Subayy bin Mabad reported that he had been a Christian from the Taghlib tribe, then he embraced Islam. He asked which deed was best, and he was told, "Jihad in the path of Allah ."He resolved to set out for jihad, but he was asked, "Have you performed the Hajj?"He answered, "No."So he was told, "Perform Hajj and Umrah first, then go for jihad."He entered ihram intending both Hajj and Umrah together. He happened to meet Zayd bin Sawhan and Salman bin Rabia, who said, "He is more astray than his she-camel," or, "He is no better guided than his camel."So he went to Umar
and informed him of what they had said.Umar replied, "You have been guided to the Sunnah of your Prophet ﷺ," or, "to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
