The Prophet ﷺ stopped at a place and went off to relieve himself. When he returned, he found that a man had lit a fire over an ant colony, either in the ground or in a tree. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Which of you did this?"A man from the group answered, "I did, Messenger of Allah."He said, "Put it out, put it out."

Its isnad is hasan, because Abu Nadr's hearing from Masudi came late. The hadith is found in Majma al-Zawaid 4:41, where he said, "Ahmad narrated it, and it contains Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah Masudi, whose memory became confused."He means the later Masudi, Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Utbah bin Masud, the teacher of Abu Nadr. As for the Abdul-Rahman who narrated from Abdullah bin Masud, he is Ibn Abdullah bin Masud, and he is a trustworthy Follower, as already noted at 3690.
