When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was taken on the night journey, he was brought to the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary, which is in the sixth heaven. To it ascends whatever rises from the earth, where it is taken hold of, and to it descends whatever comes down from above it, where it is taken hold of.Regarding Allah's words, "When that which covers the Lote Tree covered it" [Najm 53:16], he said, "It was moths of gold."He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was given three things. He was given the five daily prayers, he was given the closing verses of Surah al-Baqarah, and forgiveness was granted for the grave sins of those of his community who do not associate anything with Allah."
Its isnad is sahih. Talha is Ibn Musarrif. Murra is Ibn Sharahil Hamdani Kufi, and he is trustworthy, one of the senior Followers. Ibn Kathir transmitted the hadith in his Tafsir 8:106 from this passage, and said, "Muslim alone transmitted it." He also mentioned it in 5:128 from Bayhaqi, by way of Ibn Numayr from Malik bin Mughul, and said, "Muslim narrated it in his Sahih from Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Numayr and Zuhayr bin Harb, both of them from Abdullah bin Numayr, with this same wording."
