It is as though I can still see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recounting the story of a prophet whose people had struck him, as he wiped the blood from his face and said, "My Lord, forgive my people, for they do not know."

لكأني أنظر إلى رسول الله ﷺ يحكي نبيا ضربه قومه فهو يمسح عن وجهه الدم ويقول رب اغفر لقومي فإنهم لا يعلمون
