We were walking with the Prophet ﷺ when he passed by Ibn Sayyad. He said to him, "I have concealed something for you."Ibn Sayyad said, "Dukh."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Be gone! You will never exceed your rank."Umar said, "Messenger of Allah, let me strike off his neck."He replied, "No. If he is the one we fear, you will not be able to kill him."
حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا الأعمش عن شقيق
كنا نمشي مع النبي ﷺ فمر بابن صياد فقال إني قد خبأت لك خبئا قال ابن صياد دخ قال فقال رسول الله ﷺ اخسأ فلن تعدو قدرك فقال عمر يا رسول الله دعني أضرب عنقه قال لا إن يكن الذي نخاف فلن تستطيع قتله
