Abdullah bin Masud reported,
bin Mura reported from Abu Ahwas, from Abdullah, that the Prophet ﷺ said, "I disavow before Allah any close friendship I might have with anyone. Were I to take a close friend, I would have taken Abu Bakr as my close friend. But your companion is the close friend of Allah 
."

بن مرة عن أبي الأحوص عن عبد الله عن النبي ﷺ إني أبرأ إلى كل خليل من خلته ولو كنت متخذا خليلا لاتخذت أبا بكر خليلا وإن صاحبكم خليل الله عز وجل
Its isnad is sahih. Abdullah bin Mura Hamdani Kharifi is trustworthy, Ibn Main, Abu Zura, and Nasai all attested to his trustworthiness, and the compilers of the six books cited him. Muslim narrated the hadith, 2:331, through several chains from Amash, and before that through other chains from Ibn Masud. Tirmidhi narrated it, 4:308, through Thawri from Abu Ishaq from Abu Ahwas, and said, "A hasan sahih hadith." His commentator also attributed it to Ibn Majah. See 3385.
