He said to me, "Recite some of the Quran to me."I replied, "Did I not learn it from you, and are you not the one who teaches it to us?"He said, "I came to the Prophet ﷺ one day, and he said, 'Recite some of the Quran to me.'I said, 'Messenger of Allah, was it not revealed to you, and from you we learned it?'He said, 'Yes, but I love to hear it from someone else.'"
حدثنا هشيم أنبأنا حصين عن هلال بن يساف عن أبي حيان الأشجعي
قال لي اقرأ علي من القرآن قال فقلت له أليس منك تعلمته وأنت تقرئنا فقال إني أتيت النبي ﷺ ذات يوم فقال اقرأ علي من القرآن قال فقلت يا رسول الله أليس عليك أنزل ومنك تعلمناه قال بلى ولكني أحب أن أسمعه من غيري
