The Prophet ﷺ said, "The deceased is punished in his grave for the wailing done over him."Hajjaj's version reads, "for the wailing over him."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة وحجاج قال حدثني شعبة قال سمعت قتادة يحدث عن سعيد بن المسيب
عن النبي ﷺ قال الميت يعذب في قبره بما نيح عليه وقال حجاج بالنياحة عليه
Its chain of transmission is sahih. As for his statement "and Hajjaj said, Shuba narrated to me," its explanation is that Ahmad related it from two teachers, namely Muhammad bin Jafar, who told him, "Shuba narrated to us," and Hajjaj, who told him, "Shuba narrated to me." So he distinguished the narration of each of them. Then he also made clear at the end that Hajjaj related it with the wording "by wailing over him" instead of "by what is wailed over him."
