Abu Jahl said, "If I see Muhammad praying at the Kaabah, I will trample on his neck."This reached the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "Had he done so, the angels would have seized him in plain sight."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا معمر عن عبد الكريم عن عكرمة قال
قال أبو جهل لئن رأيت محمدا يصلي عند الكعبة لأطأن على عنقه فبلغ ذلك النبي ﷺ فقال لو فعل لأخذته الملائكة عيانا
Its isnad is sahih. Abdul-Kareem is Jazari. Ibn Kathir transmitted the hadith in his Tafsir 9:248 from Bukhari, by way of Abdul-Razzaq from Mamar. Then he said, Tirmidhi and Nasai likewise reported it in their tafsirs by way of Abdul-Razzaq, with the same chain. Ibn Jareer also reported it from Abu Kurayb from Zakariya bin Adi from Abdullah bin Amr [meaning from Abdul-Kareem], with the same chain.
