Muhammad bin Jubayr reported,

Ibn Abbas used to disapprove of beginning the fast of Ramadan before sighting the crescent moon of Ramadan. He would say, the Prophet ﷺ said, "If you do not see the crescent, complete thirty nights."

حدثنا عبد الرزاق وابن بكر قالا أخبرنا ابن جريج أخبرني عمرو بن دينار أنه

سمع محمد بن جبير يقول

كان ابن عباس ينكر أن يتقدم في صيام رمضان إذا لم ير هلال شهر رمضان ويقول قال النبي ﷺ إذا لم تروا الهلال فاستكملوا ثلاثين ليلة
