Tawus mentioned the statement of the Prophet ﷺ regarding the bath on Friday. Tawus said, "I asked Ibn Abbas, 'And should he apply perfume or oil if his family has any?'"He replied, "I do not know of that."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق وابن بكر قالا أخبرنا ابن جريج قال أخبرني إبراهيم بن ميسرة عن طاوس
أنه ذكر قول النبي ﷺ في الغسل يوم الجمعة قال طاوس فقلت لابن عباس ويمس طيبا أو دهنا إن كان عند أهله قال لا أعلمه
Its isnad is sahih. Ibrahim bin Maysara Taifi is a tabii, trustworthy. Ibn Uyayna said, "He was trustworthy and reliable, one of the most reliable I have seen." Bukhari mentioned him in al-Kabir 1/1/328.The hadith is an abridgment of 3059, and we noted at 2383 that Bukhari transmitted it through the route of Ibn Maysara.
