I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a dream during the time of Ibn Abbas. Yazid used to write copies of the Quran.I said to Ibn Abbas, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a dream."Ibn Abbas replied, "The Messenger of Allah used to say, 'Satan cannot take my form, so whoever sees me in a dream has truly seen me.' Can you describe for us this man whom you saw?"I said, "Yes. I saw a man of medium build, his body and flesh brown tending toward white, with a pleasant smile, eyes that appeared lined with kohl, and a handsomely rounded face. His beard filled the area from here to here, almost filling his upper chest."Awf said, "I do not recall what other features he mentioned along with this description."Ibn Abbas said, "Had you seen him while awake, you would not have been able to describe him better than this."
Its isnad is daif, due to the weakness of Yazid Farsi, as we explained in 399 and 499, and see also 2525. The hadith is in Majma al-Zawaid 8:272, where it is said, Ahmad narrated it, and its narrators are trustworthy, but you have already learned what is wrong with it.
