I was with Ibn Abbas when a man came and asked him, "Ibn Abbas, I am a man whose livelihood comes from the work of my hands, and I make these images."Ibn Abbas replied, "I will tell you only what I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say. He said, 'Whoever fashions an image, Allah will punish him on the Day of Resurrection until he breathes life into it, and he will never be able to do so.'"The man was deeply shaken by this and his face turned pale.Ibn Abbas said to him, "Woe to you. If you must continue this craft, then make images of trees and anything that has no soul in it."

Its isnad is sahih. It is a repeat of 2811, and we mentioned there that Bukhari narrated it via the route of Awf, and this is the route of Awf.
