I asked Ibn Abbas about the day of Ashura, and he said, "When you see the crescent of Muharram, start counting, and when you wake up on the ninth, wake up fasting."Yunus said, I was informed about Hakam that he said, I asked, "Is that how Muhammad ﷺ fasted?"He replied, "Yes."

سألت ابن عباس عن يوم عاشوراء فقال إذا رأيت هلال المحرم فاعدد فإذا أصبحت من تاسعة فأصبح صائما قال يونس فأنبئت عن الحكم أنه قال فقلت أكذاك صام محمد ﷺ قال نعم
