The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever buys food must not sell it until he has taken possession of it."I asked Ibn Abbas, "Why is that?"He replied, "Don't you see that they are paying in gold while the food is still being deferred?"
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا سفيان عن ابن طاوس عن أبيه
قال رسول الله ﷺ من ابتاع طعاما فلا يبعه حتى يقبضه قلت لابن عباس لم قال ألا ترى أنهم يبتاعون بالذهب والطعام مرجأ
Its isnad is sahih, and it is a repeat of 2275. In H it reads "yabtaun," corrected from K. Abu Dawud narrated it, 3:299-300.
