Ati reported that one of the governors sent him to Ibn Abbas to ask him about the prayer for seeking rain.Ibn Abbas said, "What kept him from asking me directly? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out humbly, in modest attire, with reverence, walking calmly and beseeching Allah. He prayed two rak'ahs as he would on the Eid, and he did not deliver a sermon like this sermon of yours."
