I do not know it except that he raised the hadith. He said, the Prophet ﷺ used to command the killing of snakes and would say, "Whoever leaves them out of fear or apprehension of revenge is not one of us."He said, and Ibn Abbas said, "The jann are transformed jinn, just as monkeys were transformed from the Children of Israil."

Its chain is sahih. Al-Jinnan, with kasrah on the jim, doubled nun, and ending in nun as well, refers to the snakes found in houses, the singular of which is jaan, meaning the thin, light one. This was stated by Ibn Athir. In j it appears as "al-jaan," which is a distortion, and we have corrected it based on k.As for this statement of Ibn Abbas, Suyuti reported something similar as a raised narration (marfu) from the hadith of Ibn Abbas in Jami Saghir, number 3871, attributing it to Tabarani and Abu Shaykh in Azamah, and he marked it with the symbol indicating sahih status. It likewise appears in Majma al-Zawaid 4:46, attributed to Tabarani in Kabir and Awsat and to Bazzar, where he said, "Its narrators are the narrators of sahih." See also 2037 and 3984.
