Its isnad is sahih, but it is disconnected. Its meaning has already appeared in 2948 through the route of Ibn Jurayj from Zakariya bin Umar from Ata, who reported that Abdullah summoned Fadl on the day of Arafah, and so on. We explained there that this is mursal, because Ata bin Abu Rabah did not meet Fadl bin Abbas, unless he heard that from Abdullah bin Abbas. It has now become clear from this narration that the earlier version was mistaken, and that the one who was summoned was Abdullah bin Abbas.Ata did meet Abdullah, since Abdullah certainly died after the year 60. Bukhari mentioned him in his Saghir (71) among those who died between the years 60 and 70, and more than one historian has dated his death to the year 87. Ibn Jurayj heard from Ata and transmitted a great deal from him, so it appears that he heard this correct version from him, while he heard the mistaken version from Zakariya bin Umar.In K it reads, from Ibn Abbas, that his brother Ubaydullah summoned him, which is a clear mistake. We have adopted what appears in J. See also 3210 and 3477. This also provides evidence that Ibn Jurayj did not hear directly from Ata.
