Abu Hurairah reported,

While Umar bin Khattab was delivering a sermon, a man came in and sat down.Umar asked, "Why do you delay coming to the Friday prayer?"The man replied, "Commander of the Believers, I did nothing more than hear the call, perform my ablution, and come."Umar said, "Just ablution as well? Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'When one of you goes to the Friday prayer, let him perform a full bath'?"

حدثنا أبو هريرة قال

بينما عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه يخطب إذ جاء رجل فجلس فقال عمر لم تحتبسون عن الجمعة فقال الرجل يا أمير المؤمنين ما هو إلا أن سمعت النداء فتوضأت ثم أقبلت فقال عمر رضي الله عنه وأيضا ألم تسمعوا رسول الله ﷺ يقول إذا راح أحدكم إلى الجمعة فليغتسل
