A man from Banu Hujaym, called so-and-so bin Bujayl, said to Ibn Abbas, "What is this fatwa with which you have captivated the people, that whoever performs tawaf around the House has exited the state of ihram?"Ibn Abbas replied, "It is the practice of your Prophet ﷺ, even if you find it disagreeable."Shuba said, I myself say "shaghabat" (stirred up), but I do not know exactly how the word should be.
حدثنا حجاج حدثني شعبة عن قتادة أن
قال رجل من بني الهجيم يقال له فلان بن بجيل لابن عباس ما هذه الفتوى التي قد تشغفت الناس من طاف بالبيت فقد حل فقال سنة نبيكم ﷺ وإن رغمتم قال شعبة أنا أقول شغبت ولا أدري كيف هي
Its isnad is sahih, and it is a repetition of what came before it. "Tashaghghafat" as in the previous narration, and in K "tashaghghabat" with the dotted ghayn and the single-dotted ba, from shaghab. Shubah's statement "shaghabat" is also from shaghab. Shaghb, with the ayn silent, means stirring up trouble, strife, and quarrel, while common usage gives it a vowel after the ayn. One says "shaghabtuhum" and "bihim" and "fihim" and "alayhim."
