The Prophet ﷺ designated Dhul Hulayfa as the place of ihram for the people of Medina, al-Juhfa for the people of Sham, Qarn for the people of Najd, and Yalamlam for the people of Yemen. He said, "These places are for the people residing there as well as for those who pass through them from elsewhere, intending to perform Hajj or Umrah. As for those whose homes are within these boundaries, they enter ihram from where they begin their journey, and so on, until even the people of Mecca enter ihram from Mecca itself."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا معمر قال أخبرنا ابن طاوس عن أبيه
وقت النبي ﷺ لأهل المدينة ذا الحليفة ولأهل الشام الجحفة ولأهل نجد قرن ولأهل اليمن يلملم قال هن لهم ولمن أتى عليهن ممن سواهم ممن أراد الحج والعمرة ثم من حيث بدأ حتى بلغ ذلك أهل مكة
