Ibn Abbas did not recite aloud in the noon and afternoon prayers. He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited aloud in the prayers in which he was commanded to recite aloud, and he remained silent in those in which he was commanded to be silent. 'You have in the Messenger of Allah an excellent example' [Ahzab 33:21], and 'Your Lord is never forgetful' [Maryam 19:64]."
حدثنا عبد الصمد حدثني أبي حدثنا أيوب
لم يكن ابن عباس يقرأ في الظهر والعصر قال قرأ رسول الله ﷺ فيما أمر أن يقرأ فيه وسكت فيما أمر أن يسكت فيه {قد كان لكم في رسول الله أسوة حسنة} {وما كان ربك نسيا}
