I was with Bara bin Azib and Umar bin Khattab at al-Baqi looking for the new crescent moon when a rider approached.Umar
went to meet him and asked, "Where have you come from?"The man replied, "From the lands of the Arabs."Umar asked, "Did you sight the crescent?"He answered, "Yes."Umar
exclaimed, "Allahu Akbar. The testimony of one man is enough for the Muslims."Then Umar
stood up, performed ablution, wiped over his leather socks, and prayed the Maghrib prayer. Afterwards he said, "This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do it."Abu Nadr noted that Umar was wearing a robe with narrow sleeves, so he pulled his hand out from underneath it and wiped.
