Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

The Prophet ﷺ asked Jibreel to let him see him in his true form.Jibreel said, "Call upon your Lord."So he called upon his Lord, and a darkness appeared from the direction of the east, rising and spreading. When the Prophet ﷺ saw it, he fell unconscious. Jibreel came to him, revived him, and wiped the saliva from the corners of his mouth.

حدثنا يحيى بن آدم حدثنا أبو بكر بن عياش عن إدريس بن سنان اليماني عن أبيه وهب بن منبه

عن ابن عباس قال

سأل النبي ﷺ جبريل أن يراه في صورته فقال ادع ربك قال فدعا ربه قال فطلع عليه سواد من قبل المشرق قال فجعل يرتفع وينتشر قال فلما رآه النبي ﷺ صعق فأتاه فنعشه ومسح البزاق عن شدقيه
