Amr bin Maymun reported,

I heard Umar bin Khattab say, "The people of the pre-Islamic era would not depart from Muzdalifah until they saw the sun upon Mount Thabir. They used to say, 'Shine, Thabir, so that we may set out.' But the Messenger of Allah ﷺ departed before sunrise."

عن عمرو بن ميمون قال

سمعت عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه يقول كان أهل الجاهلية لا يفيضون من جمع حتى يروا الشمس على ثبير وكانوا يقولون أشرق ثبير كيما نغير فأفاض رسول الله ﷺ قبل طلوع الشمس
