Husayn bin Abdullah bin Ubaydullah bin Abbas and Dawud bin Ali bin Abdullah bin Abbas reported, one of them adding more than the other, that a man called out to Ibn Abbas while people were gathered around him and said, "Are you seeking to establish a sunnah with this nabidh, or is it simply easier for you to provide than milk and honey?"Ibn Abbas replied, "The Prophet ﷺ came to Abbas and said, 'Give us something to drink.'Abbas said, 'This nabidh has been stirred and crushed. Shall we not give you milk or honey to drink instead?'The Prophet said, 'Give us to drink what you give the people to drink.'So the Prophet ﷺ was brought, along with his companions from the Muhajirun and the Ansar, two waterskins containing nabidh. When the Prophet ﷺ drank, he hurried before he was satisfied, then raised his head and said, 'You have done well. Continue to do so.'"Ibn Abbas said, "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was pleased with this is more beloved to me than that its valleys should flow with milk and honey."
