A man came to Ibn Abbas and said, "Your client, when he prostrates, places his forehead, his forearms, and his chest on the ground."Ibn Abbas asked the man, "What makes you do this?"The man replied, "Humility."Ibn Abbas said, "That is the way a dog crouches. I saw the Prophet ﷺ, when he prostrated, the whiteness of his armpits could be seen."
حدثنا هاشم عن ابن أبي ذئب
وجاء رجل إلى ابن عباس فقال إن مولاك إذا سجد وضع جبهته وذراعيه وصدره بالأرض فقال له ابن عباس ما يحملك على ما تصنع قال التواضع قال هكذا ربضة الكلب رأيت النبي ﷺ إذا سجد رئي بياض إبطيه
