Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

Maaz was brought before the Prophet ﷺ and confessed twice in his presence. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Take him away."Then he said, "Bring him back."Maaz confessed two more times, until he had confessed four times. The Prophet ﷺ then said, "Take him away and stone him."

عن ابن عباس قال

أتي النبي ﷺ بماعز فاعترف عنده مرتين فقال اذهبوا به ثم قال ردوه فاعترف مرتين حتى اعترف أربع مرات فقال النبي ﷺ اذهبوا به فارجموه
