It was said to the Prophet ﷺ when he had finished with Badr, "Go after the caravan, there is nothing standing between you and it."Abbas, who was a captive bound in his ropes, called out to him, "That is not right."The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Why not?"He replied, "Because Allah promised you one of the two parties, and He has already given you what He promised."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا إسرائيل عن سماك عن عكرمة
قيل للنبي ﷺ حين فرغ من بدر عليك العير ليس دونها شيء قال فناداه العباس وهو أسير في وثاقه لا يصلح قال فقال له النبي ﷺ لم قال لأن الله قد وعدك إحدى الطائفتين وقد أعطاك ما وعدك
