I once gave a horse as a contribution in the cause of Allah, but the man I gave it to neglected it. I wanted to buy it back, thinking he would sell it cheaply, so I said to myself, "Let me ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ first."He said, "Do not buy it back, even if he offers it to you for a single dirham, for the one who takes back his charity is like a dog returning to its vomit."
حدثنا عبد الرحمن عن مالك عن زيد بن أسلم عن أبيه
حملت على فرس في سبيل الله فأضاعه صاحبه فأردت أن أبتاعه وظننت أنه بائعه برخص فقلت حتى أسأل رسول الله ﷺ فقال لا تبتعه وإن أعطاكه بدرهم فإن الذي يعود في صدقته فكالكلب يعود في قيئه
