Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

Umar said, "Allah Most High sent Muhammad ﷺ and revealed to him the Book, and among what was revealed to him was the verse of stoning. We recited it, understood it, and committed it to memory. I fear that as time passes, people will say, 'We do not find the verse of stoning [in the Quran],' and so an obligation revealed by Allah Most High will be abandoned. Stoning, according to the Book of Allah Most High, is a binding penalty upon any married man or woman who commits adultery, when the evidence is established, or pregnancy occurs, or there is a confession."

عن ابن عباس قال

قال عمر رضي الله عنه إن الله تعالى بعث محمدا ﷺ وأنزل عليه الكتاب فكان فيما أنزل عليه آية الرجم فقرأنا بها وعقلناها ووعيناها فأخشى أن يطول بالناس عهد فيقولوا إنا لا نجد آية الرجم فتترك فريضة أنزلها الله تعالى وإن الرجم في كتاب الله تعالى حق على من زنى إذا أحصن من الرجال والنساء إذا قامت البينة أو كان الحبل أو الاعتراف
