Abu Darda reported,

I heard Abu al-Qasim ﷺ say, and I never heard him use this kunya before or after that occasion, "Allah says, 'Isa, I shall raise up after you a nation who, when something they love befalls them, will praise Allah and give thanks, and when something they dislike befalls them, will seek reward from Allah and remain patient, though they possess neither forbearance nor knowledge.'Isa asked, 'My Lord, how can this be for them when they have neither forbearance nor knowledge?'Allah replied, 'I shall grant them a portion of My own forbearance and knowledge.'"

حدثنا أبو العلاء الحسن بن سوار حدثنا ليث عن معاوية عن أبي حلبس يزيد بن ميسرة قال سمعت أم الدرداء تقول سمعت

أبا الدرداء يقول

سمعت أبا القاسم ﷺ يقول ما سمعته يكنيه قبلها ولا بعدها يقول إن الله عز وجل يقول يا عيسى إني باعث من بعدك أمة إن أصابهم ما يحبون حمدوا الله وشكروا وإن أصابهم ما يكرهون احتسبوا وصبروا ولا حلم ولا علم قال يا رب كيف هذا لهم ولا حلم ولا علم قال أعطيهم من حلمي وعلمي
