Abdul-Malik bin Marwan used to send for Umm Darda, and she would spend the night with his womenfolk while he questioned her about the Prophet ﷺ.One night he got up and called for his servant, but she was slow in coming, so he cursed her.Umm Darda said to him, "Do not curse her, for Abu Darda told me that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Those who frequently curse will not be witnesses or intercessors on the Day of Resurrection.'"
حدثنا عبد الرزاق حدثنا معمر
كان عبد الملك بن مروان يرسل إلى أم الدرداء فتبيت عند نسائه ويسألها عن النبي ﷺ قال فقام ليلة فدعا خادمه فأبطأت عليه فلعنها فقالت لا تلعن فإن أبا الدرداء حدثني أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ يقول إن اللعانين لا يكونون يوم القيامة شهداء ولا شفعاء
Its isnad is sahih. Muslim reported it, 4/2004, no. 2595, in the Book of Righteousness, as did Abu Dawud, 4/277, no. 4907, Abd bin Humayd, p. 99, no. 203, and Bayhaqi, 10/193. Hakim graded it sahih, 1/4, and Dhahabi said, "Rather, Muslim reported it."
