Umm Habiba bint Jahsh reported,

She experienced prolonged menstrual bleeding and asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it, and he instructed her to perform ghusl before every prayer. She would step out of the basin while the redness of the blood still floated on the surface of the water, then she would pray.
