I stayed as a guest with Umm Ayub, the same woman with whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had stayed, and she told me this account about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They had taken pains to prepare a meal for him containing some of these herbs. When they brought it to him, he disliked it and said to his companions, "Eat, for I am not like any of you. I fear that I might offend my companion," meaning the angel.

نزلت على أم أيوب الذي نزل عليهم رسول الله ﷺ نزلت عليها فحدثتني بهذا عن رسول الله ﷺ أنهم تكلفوا طعاما فيه بعض هذه البقول فقربوه فكرهه وقال لأصحابه كلوا إني لست كأحد منكم إني أخاف أن أوذي صاحبي يعني الملك
