Hasan bin Muhammad bin Ali reported,

A woman from the Ansar narrated to me, and she is alive today. If you wish, I can take you to her.I said, "No."She said, "I entered upon Umm Salama, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in to her looking as though he were angry. I covered myself with the sleeve of my garment. He spoke words I did not understand, and I said, 'Mother of the Believers, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ seemed to me to be angry.'She replied, 'Yes. Did you not hear what he said?'I asked, 'What did he say?'She said, 'He said, When evil spreads throughout the land and people do not forbid it, Allah sends down His punishment upon the inhabitants of the earth.'I asked, 'Messenger of Allah, even though there are righteous people among them?'He answered, 'Yes, even with the righteous among them. They are struck by what strikes the rest, then Allah takes them to His forgiveness and mercy,' or, 'to His mercy and forgiveness.'"

حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال أخبرنا شريك بن عبيد الله عن جامع بن أبي راشد عن منذر الثوري

عن الحسن بن محمد بن علي قال

حدثتني امرأة من الأنصار وهي حية اليوم إن شئت أدخلتك عليها قلت لا قالت دخلت على أم سلمة فدخل عليها رسول الله ﷺ وكأنه غضبان فاستترت بكم درعي فتكلم بكلام لم أفهمه فقلت يا أم المؤمنين كأني رأيت رسول الله ﷺ غضبان قالت نعم أوما سمعتيه قالت قلت وما قال قالت قال إن السوء إذا فشا في الأرض فلم يتناه عنه أنزل الله عز وجل بأسه على أهل الأرض قالت قلت يا رسول الله وفيهم الصالحون قال نعم وفيهم الصالحون يصيبهم ما أصاب الناس ثم يقبضهم الله عز وجل إلى مغفرته ورحمته أو إلى رحمته ومغفرته
