Her husband had divorced her irrevocably, so she took her case to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding lodging and maintenance. She said that he did not grant her lodging or maintenance, and he said, "Daughter of the family of Qays, lodging and maintenance are only due to a woman whose husband has the right to take her back."
حدثنا هشيم عن مجالد عن الشعبي قال حدثتني
أن زوجها طلقها البتة فخاصمته في السكنى والنفقة إلى رسول الله ﷺ قالت فلم يجعل سكنى ولا نفقة وقال يا بنت آل قيس إنما السكنى والنفقة على من كانت له رجعة
