One of the daughters of the Prophet ﷺ passed away, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us and said, "Wash her with water and lote leaves, an odd number of times, three, five, or more if you see fit, and add camphor, or a touch of camphor, in the final wash. When you have finished, let me know."Umm Atiya said, when we had finished, we informed him, and he handed us his waist-wrapper and said, "Wrap her in this next to her body."Umm Atiya said, we braided the hair of the Prophet's ﷺ daughter into three plaits, the two side locks and the forelock, and let them hang down behind her.
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد ويزيد بن هارون قالا أنا هشام عن حفصة قالت حدثتني
توفيت إحدى بنات النبي ﷺ فأتانا رسول الله ﷺ فقال اغسلنها بسدر واغسلنها وترا ثلاثا أو خمسا أو أكثر من ذلك إن رأيتن ذلك واجعلن في الآخرة كافورا أو شيئا من كافور فإذا فرغتن فآذننني قالت فلما فرغنا آذناه فألقى إلينا حقوه فقال أشعرنها إياه قالت أم عطية وضفرنا رأس ابنة النبي ﷺ ثلاثة قرون وألقينا خلفها قرنيها وناصيتها
