The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No one is to mourn for a deceased person more than three days, except a woman, who mourns for her husband four months and ten days. During that time she is not to wear a dyed garment, except a garment of asb cloth, nor apply kohl, nor use perfume, except when she purifies herself after her menses, when she may use a small amount of qust and azfar."
حدثنا ابن نمير قال حدثنا هشام عن حفصة بنت سيرين
قال رسول الله ﷺ لا يحد على ميت فوق ثلاث إلا المرأة فإنها تحد على زوجها أربعة أشهر وعشرا لا تلبس ثوبا مصبوغا إلا ثوب عصب ولا تكتحل ولا تطيب إلا عند أدنى طهرتها نبذة من قسط وأظفار
