He attributed it to the Prophet ﷺ, meaning that the souls of the martyrs reside in green birds that feed from the fruit of Paradise. It was also recited to Sufyan as, "a soul that feeds upon the fruit or trees of Paradise."
حدثنا سفيان عن عمرو عن الزهري
يبلغ به النبي ﷺ يعني أن أرواح الشهداء في طائر خضر تعلق من ثمر الجنة وقرئ على سفيان نسمة تعلق في ثمرة أو شجر الجنة
