Umm Ishaq reported that she was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a bowl of tharid was brought. She ate with him, and Dhul-Yadayn was also present. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ handed her a bone with meat on it and said, "Umm Ishaq, take some of this."She remembered that she was fasting, so she withdrew her hand, neither bringing it forward nor pulling it back. The Prophet ﷺ asked, "What is the matter with you?"She replied, "I was fasting, but I forgot."Dhul-Yadayn remarked, "Now, after you have eaten your fill?"The Prophet ﷺ said, "Complete your fast, for it is simply provision that Allah has driven to you."

Its chain is daif due to the obscurity of Umm Hakeem. Haythami said in 3/157, "I did not find a biography for her." Al-Hafiz mentioned her in al-Taajil, but he did not mention anything except that she narrates from her mistress. The hadith is sahih, for it has been narrated with the wording, "Whoever forgets should complete his fast." See 10297. With this wording it was narrated by Abd bin Humayd, 460, number 1590, and Tabarani in al-Kabir, 25/169, number 411.
