It was a festival day for the people of Madinah on which they were playing. I went in to see Rabi bint Muawiz bin Afra, and she said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in and sat where my bed is now. I had two young girls with me who were lamenting my forefathers who had been killed on the day of Badr, and they were beating tambourines." Affan once said, "with a tambourine."She continued, "Among the things they were saying was, 'And among us is a Prophet who knows what will happen tomorrow.'"He said, "As for this, do not say it."
حدثنا عفان قال حدثنا حماد بن سلمة قال حدثنا
كان يوم لأهل المدينة يلعبون فدخلت على الربيع بنت معوذ ابن عفراء فقالت دخل علي رسول الله ﷺ فقعد على موضع فراشي هذا وعندي جاريتان تندبان آبائي الذين قتلوا يوم بدر تضربان بالدفوف وقال عفان مرة بالدف فقالتا فيما تقولان وفينا نبي يعلم ما يكون في غد فقال أما هذا فلا تقولاه
