The sun was eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he stood and prayed. He prolonged the standing, then bowed and prolonged the bowing, then rose and prolonged the standing, then bowed again and prolonged the bowing, then rose and prolonged the standing, then performed two prostrations. He did the same in the second unit.Then he said, "Paradise was brought so close to me that if I had dared to reach for it, I would have brought you a cluster from its fruits. And the Fire was brought so near to me that I said, 'My Lord, even while I am among them?' I saw in it a cat."He said, "I think she was scratching a woman who had imprisoned her, neither feeding her nor letting her eat from the creatures of the earth, until she died."
حدثنا وكيع عن نافع بن عمر الجمحي عن ابن أبي مليكة
انكسفت الشمس على عهد رسول الله ﷺ فقام فصلى فأطال القيام ثم ركع فأطال الركوع ثم رفع فأطال القيام ثم ركع فأطال الركوع ثم رفع فأطال القيام ثم سجد سجدتين ثم فعل في الثانية مثل ذلك ثم قال لقد أدنيت مني الجنة حتى لو اجترأت عليها لأتيتكم بقطف من أقطافها ولقد أدنيت مني النار حتى قلت يا رب وأنا معهم فرأيت فيها هرة قال حسبت أنها تخدش امرأة حبستها فلم تطعمها ولم تدعها تأكل من خشاش الأرض حتى ماتت
