She stopped near the house at Muzdalifa and said, "My son, has the moon set?" while she was praying.I said, "No."So she prayed for a while, then said, "My son, has the moon set?"The narrator said the moon had indeed set.I said, "Yes."She said, "Then let us depart."So we set off and traveled with her until we threw the pebbles at the Jamra. Then she returned and prayed the dawn prayer at her lodging.I said to her, "Dear lady, we prayed while it was still very dark."She replied, "Not so, my son. The Prophet of Allah ﷺ gave permission to the women travelers."
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن ابن جريج قال أخبرني عبد الله مولى أسماء
أنها نزلت عند دار المزدلفة فقالت أي بني هل غاب القمر ليلة جمع وهي تصلي قلت لا فصلت ساعة ثم قالت أي بني هل غاب القمر قال وقد غاب القمر قلت نعم قالت فارتحلوا فارتحلنا ثم مضينا بها حتى رمينا الجمرة ثم رجعت فصلت الصبح في منزلها فقلت لها أي هنتاه لقد غلسنا قالت كلا يا بني إن نبي الله ﷺ أذن للظعن
Its isnad is sahih. Abdullah, the freed slave of Asma, is Ibn Kaysan Taymi, and he is trustworthy, his hadith being accepted by the group (of major hadith compilers). The hadith was narrated by Bukhari 3/526 no. 1679, Muslim 2/940 no. 1291, Ibn Khuzayma 4/280 no. 2884, and Bayhaqi 5/133, all of them in the chapters on Hajj.
