Umm Hani bint Abu Talib reported,

I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of the Conquest and said, "Messenger of Allah, I have granted protection to two of my husband's relatives, but my mother's son claims he will kill them." She meant Ali.She said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "We grant protection to whomever you have granted protection, Umm Hani."Then water was poured for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he bathed. He then wrapped himself in a garment, crossing its two ends over his shoulders, and prayed eight rakahs of the forenoon prayer.

حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال أخبرنا محمد يعني ابن عمرو عن إبراهيم بن عبد الله بن حنين عن أبي مرة مولى أم هانئ قال محمد وقد رأيت أبا مرة وكان شيخا قد أدرك أم هانئ

عن أم هانئ قالت

أتيت رسول الله ﷺ عام الفتح فقلت يا رسول الله قد أجرت حموين لي فزعم ابن أمي أنه قاتله تعني عليا قالت فقال رسول الله ﷺ قد أجرنا من أجرت يا أم هانئ وصب لرسول الله ﷺ ماء فاغتسل ثم التحف بثوب عليه وخالف بين طرفيه على عاتقه فصلى الضحى ثماني ركعات
