On the day Mecca was conquered, I had granted protection to two of my in-laws from among the polytheists, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ appeared, covered in dust, wrapped in a single robe.When he saw me, he said, "Welcome, Fakhta Umm Hani."I said, "Messenger of Allah, I have granted protection to two of my in-laws from among the polytheists."He replied, "We grant protection to whomever you have granted protection, and we give safety to whomever you have given safety."Then he instructed Fatimah, who poured out water for him so he could wash. He then prayed eight units of prayer wrapped in that same garment. This was on the morning of the conquest of Mecca.
حدثنا زيد بن الحباب عن ابن أبي ذئب عن المقبري عن أبي مرة مولى عقيل بن أبي طالب
لما كان يوم فتح مكة أجرت حموين لي من المشركين إذ طلع رسول الله ﷺ وعليه رهجة الغبار في ملحفة متوشحا بها فلما رآني قال مرحبا بفاختة أم هانئ قلت يا رسول الله أجرت حموين لي من المشركين فقال قد أجرنا من أجرت وأمنا من أمنت ثم أمر فاطمة فسكبت له ماء فتغسل به فصلى ثمان ركعات في الثوب متلببا به وذلك يوم فتح مكة ضحى

Its isnad is sahih. Abu Murrah, freedman of Aqeel bin Abu Talib, though it is also said he was the freedman of Umm Hani. His name was Yazid, though it is also said Abdul-Rahman. He was reliable, and his hadith is found in the collections of the group.This hadith was narrated by Bukhari 1/468 #353 in the Book of Prayer, Muslim 1/498 #336 in the Book of Travelers, Abu Dawud 3/84 #2763 in the Book of Jihad, and Tirmidhi 4/139 #1579 appended to it with the same isnad, where he said it is hasan sahih, in the Book of Expeditions. It was also narrated by Nasai 1/126 #225 in the Book of Purification, and Malik 1/152 in the chapter on shortening the prayer.
