A mouse fell into some clarified butter and died. The Prophet ﷺ was asked about it, and he said, "Take it out along with what is around it and throw that away, then eat the rest."
حدثنا سفيان عن الزهري عن عبيد الله عن ابن عباس
أن فأرة وقعت في سمن فماتت فسئل النبي ﷺ قال خذوها وما حولها فألقوه وكلوه
Its chain of transmission is sahih. It is found in Bukhari 1/343, no. 235, Fath al-Bari, in the Book of Purification, Abu Dawud 3/364, no. 3841, Tirmidhi 4/256, no. 1798, who said it is hasan sahih, and Darimi 2/364, no. 2083, all of them in the Book of Foods, and Nasai 7/170, no. 4258, in the Book of Firstborn Animals, and Malik 2/972, in the Book of Seeking Permission.
