Khansa bint Khidam had been married to a man and was widowed by him. Her father then married her to a man from Bani Awf, but she had her heart set on Abu Lubabah. Her father insisted on binding her to the man from Awf, while she refused, until their dispute was brought before the Prophet ﷺ.He said, "She has greater right over her own affair."So he assigned her to the one she preferred, and she married Abu Lubabah and bore him Abu Saaib.

كانت خناس بنت خذام عند رجل تأيمت منه فزوجها أبوها رجلا من بني عوف وحطت هي إلى أبي لبابة فأبى أبوها إلا أن يلزمها العوفي وأبت هي حتى ارتفع شأنهما إلى النبي ﷺ فقال هي أولى بأمرها فألحقها بهواها فتزوجت أبا لبابة فولدت له أبا السائب
