When the Emigrants came to Madinah and joined the Ansar, they married women from among them. The Emigrants used to approach women from behind, while the Ansar did not. A man from the Emigrants wanted his wife to do this, but she refused until she could ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it.She came to him but felt too shy to ask, so Umm Salama asked on her behalf. Then the verse was revealed, "Your wives are a tilth for you, so come to your tilth as you wish" [Baqarah 2:223].He said, "No, only through one opening."Waki said, Ibn Sabit was a man from Quraysh.

لما قدم المهاجرون المدينة على الأنصار تزوجوا من نسائهم وكان المهاجرون يجبون وكانت الأنصار لا تجبي فأراد رجل من المهاجرين امرأته على ذلك فأبت عليه حتى تسأل رسول الله ﷺ قالت فأتته فاستحيت أن تسأله فسألته أم سلمة فنزلت {نساؤكم حرث لكم فأتوا حرثكم أنى شئتم} وقال لا إلا في صمام واحد وقال وكيع ابن سابط رجل من قريش
