The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the afternoon prayer, then entered my house and prayed two units of prayer.I said, "Messenger of Allah, you have prayed a prayer you did not used to pray."He replied, "Some wealth was brought to me, and it distracted me from the two units I used to pray after the noon prayer, so I have prayed them now."I asked, "Messenger of Allah, should we make them up when we miss them?"He said, "No."
حدثنا يزيد قال أخبرنا حماد بن سلمة عن الأزرق بن قيس عن ذكوان
صلى رسول الله ﷺ العصر ثم دخل بيتي فصلى ركعتين فقلت يا رسول الله صليت صلاة لم تكن تصليها فقال قدم علي مال فشغلني عن الركعتين كنت أركعهما بعد الظهر فصليتهما الآن فقلت يا رسول الله أفنقضيهما إذا فاتتا قال لا
Its isnad is sahih. It previously appeared at 26530, but this addition is important, and it is the decisive factor regarding this sunnah.
